C. Michael Patton at Parchment and Pen blog has a very informative post titled, "Will the Real Emerger Please Stand Up?" that attempts to define the different strands of the Emerging/Emergent church. It's helpful because it shows the theological diversity within the movement, which apparently spans from liberal to conservative (even reformed). I think I've ,mentioned, but haven't posted anything, on the Emerging church here at Jordan's View. (Well, I have not been posting much at all lately, given my latest unplanned hiatus). I think that the Emerging church movement continues to grow and is something to keep an eye on. From what I understand about the movement, it aims to "do church" differently; that is, to make church and Christianity more meaningful to "postmodern" society. Of itself, there is nothing wrong in this aim, but one may ask whether the new emergent ways of doing church "emerge" from sound interpretation of Scripture.
As for me, I have been working on finishing up posts already begun. For many reasons, I have found it a challenge to start blogging regularly again, but establishing a blogging routine is one of my goals this year, and hopefully, this will happen in the not distant future.
